Production

We start working on the CAD-drawings received from the architects and engineers. We redesign the drawings into model-building construction drawings for the Etching, CNC and laser-cutting process.

After receiving the cut/etched parts we colour and assemble them.

The model is build as it would be constructed in reality.

We enquire the use of the latest technology and constantly update our manufacturing processes and use of materials. This ensures high-end accuracy/precision in our models.

Manufacturing processes:

  • CNC (computer numerical control)-cutting:
A computer controlled router cuts site-plans into detailed contoured landscapes.
  • Laser-cutting and engraving:
This machine cuts and engraves into plastics, Perspex, card etc. We produce mainly our facades this way.
  • Metal Photo Etching:
This process allows us to chemically etch fine details out of brass and stainless steel such as balustrades, trees etc.
  • Digital Photography:
To keep our clients updated with the progress of the model.
  • Casting and Moulding:
When duplicate parts are required we build masters to that scale, then mould and cast them.
  • Airbrush:
All parts are sprayed and colours are matched according to specification.

A variety of materials we use to build the models:

  • Wood/Balsawood
  • Paper/Cardboard
  • Aluminium/Stainless steel/Brass
  • Plastics/Extruded
  • Plastics/Styrene/Polystyrene/ABS/Acrylics/Perspex
  • Polyurethane
  • Piano wire/Wire mesh
  • Foils
